La Cuba Ritmo are passionate about creating and playing exceptional music.

They are proud to have performed recently at The Salsa Congress in Bournemouth, Brecon Jazz Festival, Imperial Jazz Festival London, The Royal National Theatre, Ronnie Scotts, El Floridita, Carnival de Cuba, Bar Rumba, Jagz Jazz Club, and Cubana in London.

Playing an energetic mix of traditional Cuban salsa, son, timba Cubana, with a little cumbia, reggaeton and merengue for good measure, La Cuba Ritmo are available as a 5 or 6 piece band.

La Cuba Ritmo is a 3, 4 or 5 piece band performing traditional Cuban music, fronted by Cuban violinist Gabriel Fonseca (ex Candido Fabre y Su Banda).

At the forefront of the stage with his powerful electric violin, Gabriel is a fine melodic improviser with an impeccable technique.

Flavio on bongos and lead vocals brings zest and freshness and has a natural energy.

Adriana on bass or keyboards compliments the band with her strong vocal power and also gives an excellent salsa class!

These 3 talents plus other band members have secured La Cuba Ritmo a reputation as one of the hottest Latin bands in the UK.

They have a top quality PA system or they are available to perform accoustically.

About the band 

Bandleader, Cuban violinist Gabriel Fonseca, studied violin at the National School of Music in Havana before joining the Santiago De Cuba Philharmonic Orchestra. He later went on to play with two of Cuba's famous salsa bands, Original de Manzanillo and Candido Fabré y Su Banda with whom he recorded and toured around the world playing at clubs and festivals.

Gabriel has performed or shared the stage with many Latin stars such as Los Van Van, Oscar D'Leon, Grupo Niché, Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Paquito de Rivera and more recently Eliades Ochoa, one of the original Buena Vista Social Club.

Now based in London, Gabriel has played with various Latin Bands and has performed at such venues as Ronnie Scott's, the Jazz Café, the Barbican and Bridgewater Hall. He now puts his experience and talent into his own bands featured on this site.

Vocalist, bass, flute & keyboard player Adriana Martyr studied at Universidad Pedagogica de Colombia for music and teaching. Her suavely passionate voice effortlessly combines delicacy and power. Adriana's talent as a versatile musician and the warmth she generates around her whilst performing makes her an essential part of the band's chemistry. She can also give a fun salsa class if required!


On bongos, percussion and vocals, Flavio Arias brings the stage alive with his natural energy, sensational playing and contagious enthusiasm. Formerly part of the Cuban based band Sexteto Imagen, Flavio captivates his audience, not only with his talent as a singer and percussionist but with his dancing and charm.

They say "the Cuban heart beats in the rhythm of salsa and sun" and Flavio's is no exception.

We are however very happy to pass on your thanks to any artist that has appeared at your event arranged and organised by Classique.

The majority of prices will be plus vat at the current UK rate of 20%.
